It feels weird to feel good to be back...

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

This is one of the few times that I've been overseas and come back feeling damn happy to be back.

Usual I just wanna stay away for as long as possible.
Maybe I just can't get used to Vietnam, the noise, the filth, the sights and most of all, the chaos.
I think its more than not getting used to.
I think I seriously do not like the place.
To me it was a cesspool of filth, a cacophony of noise, a cluster of smoke and dust, all meshed up to form the most tainted picture for me.
I thought China was bad enough. This was worse.
I admit, I can't appreciate this form of living, and like I told Jamesy and Kev(and Horny, I think), I need a certain level of technology and progress in the place I am at, give me my bricks and mortar.
They claimed that I'm pampered.
Without a doubt.
I want the best of both worlds, a place where there's both technology. And culture.
There was one thing that we couldn't find in Vietnam.
Or maybe we didn't try hard enough.
Anyway nothing really much to blog about the place.
Will attempt to do so(like so many of my other 'attempts') if I have the time and energy.

In the meantime, will be slacking while I wait to start work next mon...
PS: Finished Harry's Potter liao. Who want spoiler can let me know, I'll be glad to spoil everything. Muahahahaahahaahah!!!
PPS: Thanks to Horny for being our tour guide at night. Really appreciate it. Come back and we'll have dinner again yah?

Vietnam, Ya~~~~Hoo~~~~~~~

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

The day that we thought would never come has finally arrived.
In a few minutes time, Timmy boi, Jamesy boi and Kevitty Kev will be heading to Vietnam, the land of the... well, I dunno, cheap everything?

Here's to a safe journey for all of us, a rockin' good time(with Lonely Planet as our day guide and Mr Horny for the night) and 4 very satisfied souls after 5 days, 4 nights.

Will attempt to blog if I have the time and the technology, if not, then I'll see ye all in a while.

Take care now, bye bye then...

Reccos Chronicles, Part 2

Its up!

Hear! Hear!

Saturday, July 14, 2007

The very first post of the Euro trip is up.

Those who're interested can read it here

Time...

Time.
So real, yet so intangible.
We measure it by our standards, the mechanization of time into different units marked by the contraption known as the clock, or by the rising and setting of the sun, by the changing of the various seasons, so on and so forth.
We managed to 'capture' time and tamed it into a domesticated servant that will reply you which position it is in now.
But have we really captured time?

Hell, NO.

Time remains ever elusive, playing hide and seek with those who need it the most, running quicker than usual when one is pressed for it, slowing down drastically when one begs it to move on and spare the agony of waiting.
If time was an entity, it'll be a fucking Joker in my case.

How many fucking times in my life does it need to remind me that I was either too late, or too early, and years later come back to haunt me with a sneering leer and an equally awful dance/jig of victory?

Fate it seems, has an affinity with time.
The interactions of these ethereal beings have conspired to make the course to true love(for me that is) run less than smooth sometimes.
Heck, its bleddy treacherous at times come to think about it.
Fate paved out the path, time just needed to make sure I miss the turnings, like how I almost missed the turn to your house again eh. Such irony.

Pardon the ranting and the raving.
But surely a man who's sh*ting his guts out in the middle of an early morning with no sleep and a weird reminiscing session should be given some liberty to let the tongue runneth loose. Not to mention the 2 bottles of Heinek*n and some weird concoctions like Apricot Brandy(with 7-Up) and Sour Apple Margarita.

So I beseech you.
Time.
Please.
Don't fucking play me out again...

My 2nd time...

Wearing the graduation gown that is.

I have seriously no idea why and how I was possessed to wake up in the morning(well, not exactly morning, but to me its early morning lah...) and rush to the good NU of S to take pictures in the bleedy gown. In the suffocating heat no less.

But well, at least it was fun.
Taking nonsense pictures with people whom I realised, were the best part of my stay in uni.
Smoking while in full attire, gown and all, with a dude that's well, the legacy from my stint of serving the nation with 'pride'.
Having the great pleasure of taking a graduation picture with a man who is snake/uncle agony/lao gan/friend/brother all rolled into one.
Meeting up, having a proper bitching/gossiping/catching up session with old friends, shiok.

The 1st time was memorable,
the 2nd?
It was sweeter.

PS: So what happened to the mad idea of taking pictures at the Esplanade? With our gowns?!?!?!?!

PPS: Don't watch Die Hard 4 for Maggi Q. You'll be sorely disappointed. Her screen time no enough. Hmph!

After the cake, candles, and celebrations...

Saturday, July 07, 2007

Thank you.
That's all I can say to those who remembered the day Timmy boy was unleashed upon this world.

Even though the candles are burnt, the cake is finished, and the celebrations long gone,
I will remember the times and the memories that we had,
and the time and effort you people take to make this day a very very special ones.

To everyone who celebrated with me, sent messages/cards/what-ever nots to me.
THANK YOU!

This birthday will not be the same without you guys.
You know who you are, and I'm too sleepy and tired to type out everyone, hee...........

Thank you...

May my birthday wish of us meeting like this every so regularly be granted.
Oops.

The story in my storybook life...

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

The chapters that were once closed are briefly opened again.
Things that were the products of my overactive imaginations turned out to be realities.
Scenes that I thought only happen in reel form became real.

Yesterday, I think, was one of the weirdest story in my storybook life...

Thank you. And you, you, you...

Or was it 4?

That was my very virgin arts club bash.
Dancing. drinking, and in Ning's words: "Getting high on one another."
That was fun.

Fast forward to the present, 29th June 2007.
We see one group of people, standing just opposite DXO, some in the rain, some in the shelter, some smoking, some talking, all friends.
They were all here for the arts camp bash, only to realise, that the bash wasn't that great(seeing that they needed to pay $$ to go in) and that their main reason for meeting up was just, well... a reason to meet up.
Some of them went in though.
I was one of them.
But as expected, we didn't get high. Not on one another, not this time.
The crowd was different, the agenda was different, everything was just so different.

The best part of the evening must be the impromptu 'drinking' session outside some bar. (Yes, I forgot the name, how?)
Beer never taste good when drunk alone.
Thank you all. You old birds know who you are. And you people know that this will not be the last time eh?
Let's just keep going to these bashes for the f**k of it lah. At least we can always bitch about the degeneration of the young kids/gossip about the latest scandals that's concerning people we might or might not know, you know, things like these.
Or alternatively, we can just meet up more often.
But it was a good night, a great night in fact, to be able to see some many familiar faces and talk till the wee hours of the night.
Thank you. And you, you, you...

Oh, and thank you Pegs and Sw, for hosting a mini drinking party at your place, and telling me that I can just take any bottle that's been opened.
So so touched...
Card games, 99, funny rules like impersonating a chicken after saying someone's name, you me i they, speaking only in chinese, mj session.
The night seemed packed indeed.
Thank you ladies and gentlemen...
