How about lunch at Ed's, prawn-ing at Jurong, supper at Bedok?

Thursday, August 31, 2006

Had curry at Ed's house yesterday afternoon.
Thanks once again to jie jie(Jayne) and Ed.
Good to have Paul for company too, both in eating and smoking.

Home cooked meals just taste extra good.
Like Ed said, it just felt so surreal.
It did.
A rainy afternoon, a hot bowl of curry, a plate of glazed chicken wings...
We need to do lunch again, yah?

Supposed to meet up with Kev in town.
Imagine the shock and horror when I heard that the Snake and Lady Boss was joining us too.
Had a hard time deciding what we were going to do.
It was a choice of movies ranging from SnaP(Snakes of a Plane) to Love Wrecked.
Both were as tempting as a strawberry cake. Yucks.

After much debating and even more trashing of bad ideas, we finally decided to do this:

Prawn fishing. Snake(Xiao Bai) just relac one corner on the chair while the cam whore(me) just needed to act cute.

Here's the other kakis:

Kev(Wee) and Berd(da Anaconda)

Not forgetting our fisher(wo)man of the day:

Lady Boss(Pei Pei) who fed us with a grand total of... wait, 7 prawns. (for the record, lim bei caught 0, wee wee caught 5, and I think berd got the other 2. Wait, that means Snake also catch 0?!?!?)

There's a special place for people who didn't manage to catch anything:

The BBQ pit. (nabei, how come me and berd like quite happy like that?)

Oh... take a look at this:

I'm hungry again. Though I'm still sore from the fact that one of these buggers pinched me...

And at the end of the trip, we realised a few things:
1. its a cheaper hanging out alternative than drinking, since we can share rod = cutting down costs.
2. we can come better prepared next time, ie: bring snacks, drinks, ciggys, and most importantly, BBQ stuff. Really! The uncle told us that we can bring stuff to bbq here while we attempt to complement our diet with prawns.
3. there're roles for everyone to play. And its based on meritocracy. If you can't fish, then you jolly well go be a cook/bait hooker(the poor bugger who has to put the bait on the hook)/prawn peeler(the unfortunate sod who has to peel.. more like rip the prawn off the hook)
4. that it's quite fun actually.

Marlboro moment of the day(its worth not smoking a Marlboro for):

Tim(walking towards Kev):
Hey, how's it going balls?
Kev(staring at rod):
Hm... still nothing
Kev(staring at water below the rod): Eh, why is the float moving towards my direction ah?
Tim: You cock-a-nathan!!! That means there's a prawn tugging it lah!!!
Kev: Oh.
Kev proceeds to pull the rod up with a prawn dangling on the hook while Timmy bends down to start laughing his balls off.
Sweet.

Through a wine glass, not so brightly...

Yes, I've found the bottle of whiskey again.
Apparently, this damn thing is older than me and probably taste better than me, since it was one of the many wedding gifts than my parents received.
I think.

But oh well, can't say no to a bottle just wasting its life away can I?

One of the few pleasures in life that I have now, and drinking free beer/whiskey/wine any other day is just one of them.
Smoking too.
Only catch would be I can't smoke in front of my parents, unlike drinking... wait a minute, I don't really drink in front of them too...

And guess what, I've forgotten the purpose of this blog post.

Oh fuckit.

And he said: "Do we have to?"

Sunday, August 27, 2006

Me: Hey ask you something ah... for all that's been said, how come we never think of explaining things to our parents?"

Him: "Do we have to? Our actions will prove them wrong."

I hope that day will come.

For now, we're still jobless, and I'm not so proud of it anymore.
I'm broke, harangued, nagged at, looked down by... the list goes on.

Am I too slack or still trying to hold out for the perfect job?
Even I dunch quite know about it.

The late night supper for this Saturday were various forms of  'TT Durai'.
The score for the fantasy league is quite dismal.
The time I reached home was around 3.
The time I spent playing Dota is around 2 hours.
The time I have to sleep is slightly less than 2 hours.

And I'm still jobless.
And broke.

I quit.

PS: For those who sees funny symbols, try changing the encoding. I dunno what the fiack is wrong again...

So MOS it was... and Changi too.

Either I'm getting too old to club, or I'm getting too damn old to club.
Maybe I should've went down Mambo last night.
But I have a feeling if I gave up MOS tonight, there will be some people out for my blood...

Anyway...

Some miserable shot I manage to take of the bash.

Didn't think of bringing anything remotely resembling a camera sans my trusty phone down, so there...

Me and Kev talked about it on the way home(he was going home, me was heading to Changi chalet) and we realised that the people that we club with makes a difference.
Not to say that the company we went down with was bad, but like always, it just feels different.
We do see people we know here and there, saying hi and all.
But nothing beats the feeling of just walking around looking at people you DO actually KNOW, not close but you do know of their existence, like "hey, isn't that so-and-so dancing with this-and-that?".
Or something like that.

Our era has passed.

Remind me next time to just go clubbing with people I know.

Changi was another story.

Scene at the Changi chalet. Playing the drinking game.
One word: alcohol. I think there was more alcohol than food. Serious.
And for those who are concerned, nope, I didn't drink and drive. I drive after I drink, and piss-ed.
Remind me to try my darndest best to stay over at chalets when there's more alcohol than food.

PS: Thanks to nings and jono who organized this clubbing trip. And kev for comin along too.

PPS: Thanks to my li'l sis who managed to get me into the members' area for catching up session and free champagne. Best champagne in the world? Free champagne. Catch up with you soon...

PPPS: Special thanks to Mel and those buggers who tried to slosh me. Thanks ah, I was driving you know!

Violin & Tea. Day 3... all the way

Thursday, August 24, 2006

Dang.
I've realised its simply too much work to clear the backlog of blogs, and instead of wasting time blogging when I can better spend it on Dota and what nots, the choice seems simple.
Post whatever picture I can think about that sort of highlight special moments for the day.

Day 3:

Whoever says filming isn't dangerous ought to be shot. Can you imagine the diaster it would have been if Ed fell from the top of the truck/lorry/vehicle?
Amsal would've been crushed.

Day 4/5:

Gone fishing. Paul's(ed's bro. Real bro) cafe. Come here for a visit. And try the almond coffee, it rocks.

So I was playing Scrabble. But no choice, I had to keep Paul and gf entertained. The things I do for the shoot...

Day 6:

Busted tire because rental company refused to pay more for a new tire. And they expect us to drive back to the company in this condition?!?!?!?

"Eh Tim, what's toh pi xiang shi jia hu jiao li?"
"What the hell is that?" - searching furiously on the menu.
"Neh, that one lah, on the right, 2nd line from the left."
"Erm Ed... you're supposed to read the menu from left to right, not top to down." - doubled up laughing.

Day 7:

Filming in front of the Asian Civilisations Museum

I might be caught/sued/persecuted for this but heck. You don't get to take a topless shot with Sir Stamford Raffles everyday...

Day 8:

We're still there, trying to finish up...

Utopia. Was it really going to be the promised land for us too?

Dinner. Good dinner. Best dinner. (cos it was free...)

Day 9:

Just 3 guys and a camera to capture the passing of time.

Ed trying to act cute.

Some things are remain unchanged in spite of the light and shadows.

Day 10(was sick, so didn't take pictures)

Day 11

The things we do when we're bored.

The last shoot.

Amsal giving us the thumbs up sign. Just a sign of the feelings running around at the period when we heard the final 'CUT'.

And that's all folks.
Need to sleep and recharge for my MOS trip tomorrow night.
In the meantime, do give me a call if you miss me.
If not, take care now, bye bye then...

Violin & Tea Day... What the, its a WRAP!!!

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

It's a wrap.
Wanted to do a more picture-ly blog but in the end realised I was too lazy and busy to do anything at all.
But stay tune for the rest of the days, if you're interested.

In the meantime, it's a wrap.
Mixed feelings.
Glad that its over, sad that I won't be seeing these people for some time.

Off to sleep now.
1 more day to go before I can truly rest.
Logs day tomorrow...

Shameless selling of the *Arri 35 BL2 camera by Ed.

*I was forced to change to this technical sounding and unfortunately correct name for the camera. By the man himself of course.

Testing...

Testing testing...

Violin & Tea. Day 2

Monday, August 14, 2006

This method is working.
I'm actually able to clear my backlog of posts in the shortest time while having time to play Dot... I mean sleep.

So that's it.
This method it shall be.

Best thing to do on a hot, sweltering Saturday afternoon. A chair, a table, ciggys, and an ice-cold beer. SHIOK.

Ed the man. (who conned me into doing this job). And no, the sunflower was not for me. Nor the orchids.

As can see, we didn't do much on Sat since there wasn't any shooting.
But guess what, it was another logistics nightmare, going to places, collecting things, buying things.
At least I was able to go home for dinner.

Violin & Tea. Day 1

I give up.
Instead of lengthy, wordy posts, I'll just paste some pictures and start blogging.

Reasons being:

1. I no time
2. I no energy
3. I no motivation
4. Because of 1. I must make sure I allocate enough time for WoW and Dota.

Anyway, here goes...

In the botanic gardens. First day of shoot. Guy in brown: Weiming, Guy who's arse is facing us: Amster(dunno how to spell so agar agar), Guy in black holding thingy in his hands: Vince

Scene from another angle. The setting up(that takes hell lot of time, sometimes).
Gal in tshirt and jeans: Jayne jie-jie, Guy who's butt is facing us again: Amster(damn, this is going to be how I spell his name from now on...)

That's all folks.

Day 1.

Violin & Tea. Day 0

Sunday, August 13, 2006

Seeing that I'm going to be in this shi... I mean production for quite some time, might as well update when I have the chance.

So what happened at Day 0?

Woke up early, collected van/lorry/truck/big vehicle, lunch, collected film equipment, dinner, bought stuff(at Mustafah centre no less, my very first time there.), supper, home.

Which kinda reminded me of collecting goods for arts camp and stuff.

Anyway, will be attempting to update as frequent as I can, meaning, if I've still not concussed, I'll probably blog.

Till the next time...

The best part about day 0, Bedok Bak Chor Mee.

上一个人...

Thursday, August 10, 2006

上一个人,
就容易失了神.

True so true.

But dare I say anything more?
What I wanted to say, we wanted to say. We've said it.
You've heard enough too I suppose.

The sms-es.
The phone calls.
The rushing to and fro.
The little this and the little thats.

These sights and sounds play before us,
but never far, never far, to the one whom it mattered the most.
Do we thank the sun for keeping us warm?
No.
We do however, curse and swear when the sun gets too hot for our liking.
We do miss the sun with the falling of the first raindrops.
So what about you?
Are you the sun?
Or us?
Ask yourself.

This mirror image of yours.
Who is it?
Is it the Hollow inside you while the you search for bankai?
For who?

I want to say so much more.
But I'm tired.
I'm sick and tired of doing the thankless job of searching for the you that has disappeared.

You know what?
I give up.

If this journey is meant for you to be taken alone, then go ahead.
Call me when you're done.

Oh heck!!!

Friday, August 04, 2006

I should be sleeping now, but what the f**k, I'm inspired.
Not to mention the Absolut Kurant that's somewhat swimming in my system now.

Anyway, here's some pictures which I think deserve a place in my blog, and for those who still reads this blog, may read this blog, came across this blog, or got inspired to come to this blog, yada yada...

These are some pictures which are in my (not-so-humble)opinion the funniest of the lots.
And since I can't really rank them, how about some help over here eh?
Those interested please leave a comment in the tagboard regarding your choice.
Those too lazy can call or sms me.
Those even more lazy can tell me when you see me.
Those that are so lazy that they need a machine to make them breathe can well, send me their opinions through telepathy?

Well, enough talk already.
Ladies and Gentlemen, come some of da music please....

1. Totally MTV-ish. Or like some Taiwan-ese teenage-idol-drama. Let's call this: Beachy (kind of) love.

2.
The 3 Stooges... I mean Ladies...

3.
The Dancing Toothbrush-ers. Call us if you want to be entertained while you use the toilet. We promise to dance and brush our teeth only. And maybe pee...

4.
The man, the man, and the hand rest. (note the pout on the hand rest's face)

5.
The masked man of mystery. In pink towel no less. Scary...

6.
Did I hear someone say LOTR?

7.
Erm, the 1000 head Buddha?

8.
Tit-anic. There must be a better way to kill time...

9.
The man who somehow got his (*ahem) preference mixed up.

10.
Guess who's sleepy and hungry?

So cast your votes early people!!!

PS: If you think that most of the pictures got me, then its too bad. Muahahahaha!!! Since I'm the shameless owner of this blog and the equally shameless bugger that likes to take these kind of pictures.

PPS: For those whose erm.. not so beautiful/handsome sides are captured and displayed here. Please don't kill me...

Erm, the thing is...

The thing is, I think I may be able to worm out of my parents' bad books for a while.

Thanks to Horny aka Mr Hongni for getting me this job.
The pay's not fantastic, unless I have magic fingers and a very in-depth knowledge of the damn computer and how things work.
If not, I might end up making barely enough to make ends meet.
Well, then again, I guess this can be considered somewhat a erm... move, to get my parents off my back.
For now at least.

Anyway, nuffin much to be blogging around, we'll see how these few days go.

I thought....

Thursday, August 03, 2006

I thought I was back in Thailand.

Was sleeping in the car and I woke up.

Everything was hazy.
I saw lights, I saw cars, I didn't see any buildings.
Space, there was some open space.
Noise.
I heard a lot of people, walking walking.

And for some friggin' reason, I felt like I just woke up from a cab ride to Suan Lum(is that how the f**k one spells it?).

I thought I was back...

Sigh, I miss the damn place.

Presenting: The Great Gang of 9
(the left side of the table, from the front: Nings, Giang, Lady Boss(aka Pei Pei), Snake aka Snake.
the right side of the table, from the front: Beng, Iban aka Ivan, Me, Kev, Ik aka Ivan)
